Veteran journalist Brian D'Ambrosio interviews 30 of the toughest guys in the history of the NHL in this 250 plus page book. Some of hockey's greatest enforcers, from Tim Hunter to Tony Twist, discuss the evolution of the tough guy position. The book is primarily about the glory days of the enforcer role and how there will never be another Bob Probert-type in the NHL. Secondly, it's about the overall evaporating enforcer role and the death of fighting in the modern NHL. Thirty former enforcers provide insight into the hockey tough guy's fraternity and share their thoughts about the diminished role of fighting and enforcers in the NHL. They provide their take on the new rule changes and overall anti-fighting, protectionist attitude governing fighting. And, of course, they talk about their greatest bouts.

I flew through this book in a matter of days. I notice that when you're reading about a topic you like, it doesn't take long to go through it. This book is right up our alley, guys. Basically, this book is a series of interviews with enforcers and other tough guys. It reminds me a little of the 'Bad Boys' books Stan Fischler, that were similar tough guy interview books. Probert gets a LOT of love in this one and deservedly so. Many of these guys recount their first fight with him and how he grew the enforcer role etc. I won't give out too many details. For me, any book that has a collection of interviews on tough guys is worth grabbing. This one even has that rant by Byers at the end. Too funny.I grabbed this on amazon and it was only available in kindle edition.
Good stuff, boys. Pick it up!

Warriors on the Ice Hockey Toughest Talk eBook Brian D'Ambrosio Reviews
I would tell anyone who loves hockey they must read warriors on ice, brings back a lot of memories, old time hockey my best fighter joey kocur and bob probert
Now I have read dozens of books on hockey fighters, violence in hockey, and just tough hockey all around.........but this book stands apart from the rest. The author lets the ex-NHLer's tell the story while he narrates with perfect commentary. I could tell the author knew the right questions and boy did the enforces tell it like it was. Chock full of colorful stories and memories. I would recommend this book to anyone who is a fan of the tough guy...the underdog who night after night sacrificed his body to spark a team or get payback when needed. Each fighter also shares their memories of the legend Bob Probert which was done really well by the author.....pretty much giving each enforcer their own little Probie section/story. I can't wait for a part 2!
